Tour of Ghana : 7th April – 20th April 2019

Because our eldest son spent 4 months in Ghana as part of his international training & internship abroad, we wanted to visit him during the Easter holidays, while combining this visit with a tour of Ghana. We asked Eric Tours to assist us with organizing this trip.

Throughout the entire trip we had a 4×4 car from Eric Tours with driver at our disposal. Since the distances between the different hotels were sometimes quite big, we spent a lot of time in the car, together with our driver Eric Nhyiraba. At the beginning of our trip we needed some time to get to know each other, yet after a few days we developed a very pleasant contact with Eric. He always helped us to make our wishes come true and guided us very safely through the sometimes hectic traffic on the often bumpy and uncomfortable roads. Eric spoke fluent English and knew his way around the country like the back of his hand. Furthermore, he was able to tell us a lot of interesting facts about the areas we drove through, about the local culture, religion etc.

We enjoyed being reunited with our son and spent 3 days together at the Beach House not far from Cape Coast: a true paradise, next to the beach from where all kinds of fun excursions can be made: e.g. to the slave fort in Elmina, the Kakum National Park, etc. The housekeeper Emmanuel was always super friendly and specially organized a delicious barbecue for us, with a campfire.

After those 3 days we did an approximately 10 day tour of Ghana: our accommodation included places like Akosombo on the Volta river; the Wli waterfalls, the Bosumtwi lake, the Mole National Park, Tamale and Accra.

As far as excursions are concerned, we really enjoyed the area around Cape Coast, the Mole National Park, the Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary, the city tour of Accra (Jamestown) and last but not least the guided tour of the traditional village Larabanga pleased us very much too.

RONDREIS GHANA  7 APRIL – 20 APRIL 2019

It was such a pleasure to have you as our personal driver for our time while we were in Ghana. I felt safe at all time knowing that you were with us looking us throughout the trip. Your knowledge of your country and it’s history is astonishing. For anyone traveling to Ghana I highly recommend utilizing the professional services of Eric.

Best Regards,

Dale

Eric is the best tour guide

We are a family of four from the United States that originally hired Eric as both a tour guide and a driver for three days during our stay in Ghana, he was so engaging that we decided to ask him if we could hire him for an additional two days.
Both funny and engaging, he is very knowledgeable about Ghanaian culture. We very much enjoyed our language and history lessons whilst in the car going to and from different sites. This is my third trip to Ghana, including an extended stay as a study-abroad student and all of his recommendations were spot on, I was delighted to discover new places and restaurants that I hadn’t previously visited. If you know Ghana, then you know that there is traffic, Eric handled himself both calmly and professionally when we were in stop-and-go traffic for over 3 hours. He helped us to maneuver through Monkola market three times and made sure that my Mother was able to purchase what she needed. We wouldn’t have been able to see as much of Accra as we did without him. I have traveled to over 20 countries and six continents and Eric is the best tour guide that I have hired.

If you want to get to know Ghana, Eric (tours) is the place to be. He drives you around in a safe and pleasant way. If you cause, he will explain everything you want to know about the country’s culture, tribes and wildlife. Further More, he can always help you with questions about public transport or fine hotels / places in the area. We drove two weeks with Eric and covered several at thousand kilometers with him. We really enjoyed that. He was always waiting for us at the agreed time, Whether at the hotel or at the airport. You notice Everything that in helping people and trying to serve them as well as possible is his passion-fruit, along with his passion for his country of Ghana.
Finally I want to tell you That Eric is a great guide, he drives everywhere without using a map or navigation system, huh Seems to know the whole of Ghana and he likes to take you to nice places in, for example, the huge market or Kumasi. In Addition, he is never “too much”. He is there claustrophobia for him to be there, otherwise he knows When to keep his distance. And most important, he is reliable

In short, traveling with Eric (Tours) is a must if you want to get to know Ghana!

Last April three friends went to visit Anne, who was a volunteer at PCC at the time. We decided to do a round trip in Ghana and Eric was our driver. It was our first time in Ghana and we had the most wonderful time. Not only did Eric take us everywhere we wanted to go, he also prevented us from paying to much and showed us some awesome places we would never have found ourselves, like this small Kente place. We had a lot of fun with Eric, in the car we mostly asked him everything we could think of in terms of habits of people in Ghana and the culture. Next to being an experienced and amazing driver, we also had a lot of fun outside the car, we drank some malt together after the long drives, played beach volleyball, went on a boat trip, … For us Eric became more a part of the travel group instead of just our driver, which is exactly how we wanted it to be. Thanks for the amazing time Eric and if I ever happen to go to Ghana again, I hop you would be free to drive me around.

Cheers

Charlotte

Our driver is a very nice guy. He is always very polite, take very good care of his guests. He is a very good driver in the traffic of Ghana, for us it was chaos, for him it is normal. We feel very safe by him in the car and during our 14 days trip in Ghana.

Also he is a good guide who can tell you several things of the history of Ghana and the people.

We were very glad to have him as driver and as a person.

DURING MY TRIP TO GHANA, IN JANUARY 2017, WE MADE A WEEK-LONG TOUR OF THE CASTLES ALONG THE COAST, FROM ACCRA UP TO AXIM. DURING THIS WHOLE TIME, ERIC VINYOH DROVE US AROUND AND NEVER FAILED IN HIS DUTIES. HE TURNED OUT TO BE A MOST LIKABLE AND RELIABLE COMPANION ALL ALONG.
